Just Ordered My GSD from EuroSportK9

Doc, I too purchased my first trained dog from Eurosport a little over a year ago. I knew NOTHING but was in need of a good PP dog that I would also be good with the small children I have. I had gotten myself lined up with a trainer to help me and guide me. We did nothing except play ball with him and let him get used to us, the house, his space, new schedule, ect. I was too unsure of myself to take him anywhere for awhile til I knew for sure we had a level of respect and he'd obey. He was a fantastic dog from day one, loves the kids- he too is a little protective of the baby; that's his buddy who sneaks him treats after all. lol But my dog was a little older than yours so he was matured and already "came into his own" so to speak. Your dog sounds like he's starting to come into his own skin and just needs a little guidance in the training part to iron out some of his little quirks. I'd say it took a good 3 months before I noticed a real bond with my first dog with the family. His obedience was always right on perfect but he really didn't know his place for a few months, so give your boy a little more time to relax and settle in. Maybe it's a little too much "newness" for him and he needs a little more time?? But definately get with someone to help you with the training. I'm sure he'll work through this and be a fantastic dog.

i've been wanting to buy a GSD like yours but there are too much scruple concerning how good he is as we mainly look at photo to make purchase decision. Besides, there is also concern on monies..I find it's not cheap at all if will to convert into local currency....however, i'm not giving up...i will continue even though i hv been searching for months already...:-)

Friends have told me to buy a older pup like over a year old so that he will not be freaked out so easily after a long journey flight..any one any comment on this?[/quote]

I think puppies take long journeys the best and recover from it quickly. I have heard people say that their older dogs were so stable in temperament that they came off the plane fine. I imported my male at the age of 7mos and he was a mess!! It took him a long time to adjust to family life and was afraid of everything, I believe that he was never socialized properly and the flight just added to everything. He is doing great now but it took alot of work to get him this way.

Tks Lyn for sharing your experience..:-) How long was your flight? For mine, it will take about 12 hours. Is this too long? The only male eurosport has right now is only 5 months old. I'm just concern of his age and ability to withstand the long hour flight. I definitely not want to harm the little litter. :-(...

He flew out of Prague to newark NJ He was ont the plane for a very long time like 24 hours. 5 mos is a tender age because at about 6 mos they go through a fear period. It really depends on the make up of the dog and how well he has been socialized up tho this point in his life, my was not socialized that was evident once he arrived, I was told that he was socialized, but he told me a very different story. Don't gete wrong I love the dog, but he was not what I had ordered.

I got my male from eurosport last year, 1st part of april. He was 8 months old. He flew from Slovakia to Germany to Illinois. I fed him a peice of hot dog & he jumped up on me like we were best friends. Every new place we go he acts like he has been there a thousand times.

I told Taunya that I wanted a dog that was ready to work & that is what she sent me. This dog is always ready to work, everything is full speed with a happy attitude.

Training? socialization? Both probably. I just know that if you know what you want & tell Taunya & Josef what you want, that's what you will get.

Mike

I was specific in my request to eurosport for a confident dog to work, must not be dog agressive. That is not what I got. He was afraid of everything and dog agressive when he arrived. I had the opportunity to return the dog I chose not too. I know many who got exactly as they requested, however that was not the case in my experience unfortunately. The dog has come a long way and I love him. He has gained much confidence and looks to please me and no longer is aggressive toward other dogs.

Tks Mike and Lyn for sharing your experiences. Now, after hearing from you, I'm in a dilemma whether or not to proceed with the purchase. I have not even closed the deal and I'm already having quite a bad impression of them. I'm doubtful about their sincerity. I'm not sure if they are busy with something or what, I'm not getting a response that is fast enough nor have all my questions answered. They reply are always short and sharp..Although they have given me the price of the dog & shipping cost, they did not tell me the details of how the dog will be shipped, such that I asked for direct flight, they said they cannot guarantee a direct flight. No assurance words from them. I'm quite disappointed..

My only other suggestion is if you do decide to proceed you want a written guarantee that any issues with the dog the dog can be returned for a refund. They did offer to take my dog back but I had nothing in writng, I decided to keep the dog which was my choice. I had a hard time getting info about the dog once I got him and realized he had issues, information was not forth coming.

I am not saying this to bash anyone or ruin reputations, I am only sharing my experience. I know there are plenty of others who have had nothing but positive experiences.

Best of luck to you in your decision and finding the perfect GSD for you!

Keramy,

All I can tell you is when I am ready for another dog I will go to Eurosport. I am more than happy with the dog I bought.
I train with people who have eurosport dogs & they are happy.

Tks Mike, I just hope eurosport can be more responsive like you guys, to proof that they not only produce good dogs, they also provide excellent service too. I'm in the customer service line and I learnt that meeting customer expectation may not be enough. It needs to exceed customer needs and go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure total customer satisfaction..Well, i have emailed them yesterday and up to now, I 've not seen their response.. I have to pray for the entire transaction be smooth and problem-free if i really decided to buy fm them...Nevertheless, I appreciate Lyn for her openness n guidance..:-)

Sometimes Taunya takes a while to get back to you - they seem to be very busy - but she will get back to you.
My male, Uri (Grind Slzy z Mrakov), came from Eurosport and I will buy from them again in the future. He is exactly as described by Taunya - a good family dog and a great companion. He is protective but not aggressive. When I work in the front yard, I put him on a bungee line and he usually lays there watching me. If someone comes near, he barks and goes out to let them know to stay away unless I tell him to relax, then he just watches them. My female Keara (6.5 months) is from a Eurosport dog (Ajka Drevopal) bred in California. She is also a terrific dog.
There are a lot of good dogs out there and a lot of good breeders, but I don't think you can go wrong with a Eurosport dog, in my humble opinion.

Below is Keara (L) and Uri (R) when I was working in the front today.

Tks for your msg, Mike & Musketeer. Though I hv read the scandal abt the fake titles in pedigree database, I chose to believe in eurosport and you guys. I'm sending t/t payment to them tmrw, perhaps you guys can help me or eurosport out by telling me from your past experience, did your pup sent to you on freight collect and you pay the shipping cost to the cargo agent direct or if you pay a lump sum to eurosport. How soon after we pay for the pup can we expect delivery? What abt the paper for your pup, will it be mailed to you? ...see, lots of questions off my head right....

You guys are great!!! I like your spontaneous and openness... :D

I paid the shipping 500.00 us dollars to eurosport with the payment of the dog. They shipped the dog to Newark airport that next weekend. I picked him up in the cargo are of the airport. It all happened very fast. His papers and x-rays were attached to his crate. I had no trouble picking him up at all.

I wish you the best of luck with your new dog. Let us know how you make out. Like I said after a rocky start I adore my dog now. I have read about many positive experiences that people have had in dealing with eurosport I hope yours is one too.

What dog are you purchasing? Is he on their website?

Sorry for the late response as I was tight up with the bank to make remittance, arranging the kennel space, reading up the procedure required for the importation....I'm so excited..finally made up my mind to get fm eurosport and getting responses fm them make me feel at ease.:-)
and Josef is so obliging i wld say, to accommodate my request. I'm quite pleased..the one i purchased is on their website..the pup Hagrid. How do you find him? I'm a bit concern with his downward ears and if they will erect in the later stage...guess i need to go read more abt this when I have time...
